Sheriff Ted Mink, Jefferson County, Colorado

On July 9, 2003, the Board of County Commissioners appointed Ted Mink sheriff of Jefferson County. The following year, Mink was elected sheriff in the November general election, and was reelected again in 2006.

Mink's law enforcement career began in 1973 when he became a deputy with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. Later that year, Mink left Boulder and joined the Arvada Police Department as an officer.

Mink would spend nearly three decades at Arvada PD, serving as an officer, investigator, sergeant, lieutenant, commander and deputy chief. In 1995, he was instrumental in forming the West Metro Drug Task Force, a multi-jurisdictional team built to combat drug-related crime in and around Jefferson County. Mink was well known for his role on "Cop Talk," the department's monthly television program, where his "Punk of the Month" segment resulted in the arrest of nearly 70 percent of suspects featured.

Mink served for six months as undersheriff of Jefferson County before his appointment to sheriff.Since becoming sheriff, he and Undersheriff Ray Fleer have focused on community partnership and have implemented a wide variety of community-oriented policing programs such as SMART Jeffco. Modeled after the New York Police Department’s Compstat model, SMART Jeffco is a proactive approach to solving crime and quality-of-life problems. It requires that staff analyze crime statistics, trends and contributing factors, and implement preventive plans quickly to attack the problem at its source. An emphasis on creativity in problem-solving ensures that deputies use all the resources at their disposal to prevent and solve crime.

Kim Marie Baldwin

Kim Baldwin, originally from Lansing, Michigan, moved to Palm Springs, California in 1989 to start the Palm Springs International Film Festival with Sonny Bono, which began in January 1990, and is now ranked one of the top international film festivals in the world. After working six years as the Director of Operations and Development - and working with entertainers such as Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Stewart, Sophia Loren, Tippi Hedren, Bob Hope, Ginger Rogers, Robert Wagner, Tony Curtis, Cyd Charisse, and others - she moved onto a position in Los Angeles as Director of Operations and Development with the Israel Film Festival for eight years. This festival took place in LA, NY, Chicago and Miami. Baldwin then spent three years working as Program Editor and writer of The Bangkok Buzz on the Bangkok International Film Festival in Thailand, and attended the 2008 Cannes Film Festival in France as a film programmer.

Prior to her work on International Film Festivals, Baldwin studied Media Technology in college (journalism, broadcasting and communications), then worked briefly for the Attorney General for the State of Michigan and The Michigan Hospital Association, before being hired as a Playboy Bunny in 1982 at the Lansing Playboy Club. Baldwin worked as Bunny Brandi from 1982-1986, then was promoted to Bunny Mother (Club Manager). The Lansing, Michigan Playboy Club was officially the last Playboy Club in America and closed its doors in the summer of 1988. Baldwin is currently writing a book about her Playboy days called, "To Earn Your Ears – The Life of a Playboy Bunny."

For the past 18 years, Baldwin has also worked as a licensed massage therapist and holistic health practitioner and received The Best of the Best Spa Employee of the Year (2002) from the City of Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism. She is licensed in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Acupressure Facelift Massage, Acupressure, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Infant and Geriatric Massage, Hot Stone, Powder Massage, Chair Massage, Body Wraps, Body Scrubs, Hair Elixirs and Feet First Treatments. She also acts as a consultant to spas and a teacher in spa therapies, as well as helping others to "Make Your House a Healthy Home," by removing toxic substances and cleaning supplies from people’s homes and teaching them how to live toxic free in a healthy home or business environment.

Additionally, Baldwin is a licensed California Real Estate Agent, an award-winning freelance writer and poet; a certified YogaFit instructor, an independent travel agent, and received her diploma in Fitness and Nutrition through the Professional Career Development Institute. Her passions include health, writing, reading, art, photography, painting, cooking, animals, foreign films, documentaries, spas and bodywork, all sports and extensive world travel. She has been to 46 states, and approximately 30 countries around-the-world. Some of her favorite charities include St. Jude's Hospital, as well as Children International and Christian Children's Fund. Baldwin is currently on board as an Ambassador and Project Manager for Butt-check.org, a not-for-profit 501(C)3 organization, founded by Kim Adair, that brings awareness of colon cancer to the public forefront.

Don Johnson

Hi, my name is Don Johnson. I am a Light board Operator for Quincy Community Theatre, I am 49 and in the age range to get a colonoscopy, My dad had colon cancer along with prostate cancer, a stroke 5 times and Heart attack 4 times. When dad had colon cancer and he was in recovery a doctor came to check on him, and dad being his funny self looked at the doctor and said "Looks like I have a semi-colon now" and the doctor looked at dad and chuckled, "Yes, Mr Johnson, you now have a semi-colon."

My dad could make anyone smile, but they usually laughed at his wit with words, a talent he passed on to me.

I was born one of a twin, but I wasn't your typical birth, They couldn't get me to cry and the doctors were worried so they put me in an incubator. It was a few days later and my dad had just taken my twin brother home while I still laid there with questions that needed to be answered.

A few hours later dad was walking down the hallway to my room when a loud cry came from my room. "Thats my boy" dad said as he ran to the room.

I was born with Cerebral Palsy, affecting my left side, and my life, but I used humor when the kids made fun of me in school, I still get made fun of to this day and the funny thing is it's by people my age, not the younger kids.

Hi everyone, My name is Jeff Chandler and along with my beautiful wife Maureen, we live in the most amazing state of Alaska. My wife and I volunteer every year as dog handlers for the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. I also enjoy fishing, hunting,hiking and mountaineering.

I have been in the antique restoration for the past 29 years and find it a very rewarding occupation.

Thanks Kim for asking me to be the ambassador for this great state and trying to bring attention to the importance of colon cancer prevention.

Mr. Pilgrim is the President and founder of Osrick Ingredients Cricket, Inc., a prospering urban apparel company.

Mr. Pilgrim has spent the past eleven years sculpting his dream. In doing this he spent a great deal of time studying, researching, and preparing. In 2003, Mr. Pilgrim began his endeavor.

Mr. Pilgrim is skilled and well-versed in managing a profitable business on the day-to-day. He has over 16 years of entrepreneurial experience and has started up several successful companies while contributing time and intellectual capital to others. One of his biggest and most successful endeavors, Pilgrim’s Maintenance and Service, Inc. allowed Mr. Pilgrim the opportunity to gain an extraordinary amount of skill and technique regarding the development and operation of a business.

To add to Mr. Pilgrim’s experience, he has also attended numerous seminars that included instructional information, such as, how to construct a strong team of employees and instructions on how to run a fashion company. Along with his knowledge, Mr. Pilgrim’s past work history has allowed him the ability to work well with others and to be the leader of a working and growing team.

Included in Mr. Pilgrim’s endeavors, he is the co-founder of a nonprofit organization, Tomaro’s C.H.A.N.G.E. The organization, located in NJ, is a charitable foundation that is dedicated to assisting youth by supplying such items as clothing, hygiene products, food, and educational supplies. Mr. Pilgrim has combined fashion and philanthropy in a unique way which creates a successful balance for both companies.

Mr. Pilgrim also has an impressive relationship with Bailey House, Inc; an award winning community based non-profit organization in NY, which is a foundation that assists homeless people with HIV/AIDS. Not only does he donate apparel for their annual auction, but he also participates in their fundraising ventures. He is also collaborating with Butt Check, a nonprofit organization in Arizona that raises funds and awareness for colon cancer research. The collaboration currently involves the designing of a unique pair of men's underwear – the Butt Check Boxers. Mr. Pilgrim has been afforded great opportunities in working with these organizations that will not only be beneficial to Osrick Ingredients Cricket, Inc. but will also be beneficial to those who receive their services.

Due to his skill and passion about men’s fashion, Mr. Pilgrim is uniquely positioned to effectively manage a multi-faceted international venture such as Osrick Ingredients Cricket, Inc.

Sharon Blynn

Sharon Blynn is an actorvist/writer/model, and, inspired by her ovarian cancer journey, founded Bald Is Beautiful, a women's wholeness/cancer awareness organization through which she does spokesperson/advocacy work and is dedicated to expanding and redefining notions of beauty and femininity for all women, and especially those whose appearances may drastically change as part of a health journey, and promoting the idea that our femininity is undiminished by the effects of cancer.
